Cosmoptera is a startup born out of a Cornell University spacecraft research group, led by Hunter Adams.
Cosmoptera is an internet-of-things company that is deploying sensor-and-radio- equipped devices on Earth and in space for massively distributed environmental data gathering and visualization.
Cosmoptera is seeking an intern with full stack experience to create a backend for storing data from deployed sensors, and to create a user interface for visualizing that data. Sensors will be deployed in vineyards around Cayuga and Seneca Lakes by the start of summer, and local vineyard managers will use the software tools developed by the intern to inform maintenance decisions in the coming growing season.
Additional duties may include
- Meeting with local vineyards and orchards to discuss user interfaces.
- Electrical prototyping.
This is a 10-week, full-time co-op or internship opportunity (Summer 2019) for students of any degree program with experience in backend and frontend development.
Candidates must be US Citizens and attend a university in New York state to qualify for this New York Space Grant position.
