NASA’s Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) is now accepting proposals for its 2027 competition. Inspired by the goals of NASA’s Artemis missions, HERC gives student teams the opportunity to design, build, and test rover technologies for navigating challenging terrain.

Teams can compete in either the Human-Powered or Remote-Controlled division, earning points through design and readiness reviews as well as their performance on a timed obstacle course.

The competition will be from April 21st to the 24th, 2027 in Huntsville, Alabama.
