NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement’s Minority University Research and Education Project (MUREP) is seeking proposals to accelerate academic research and technology development that furthers the agency’s priorities for exploring the Moon, Mars, and deep space. This initiative supports NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate and seeks to strengthen eligible institutions as they grow their scientific and engineering capabilities, enhance faculty and student engagement across aerospace research, and expand their ability to compete for future federal and commercial research awards.

NASA’s Deep Space Food Challenge: Mars to Table calls on chefs, students, and innovators worldwide to design a fully self-sustaining food system for long-duration missions, helping astronauts thrive on journeys far from Earth.

U.S. participants will compete for part of a prize purse of up to $750,000 from NASA. International teams are also eligible to participate and receive recognition.

NASA TechLeap Prize – Robotically Manipulated Payload Challenge

NASA’s Flight Opportunities program is running a challenge to develop payloads that can work with a robotic arm in low Earth orbit. Up to three teams can earn as much as $500,000 across multiple phases, with winning payloads planned to fly on an orbital mission in early 2028.
