Affiliate Spotlight - Intrepid Museum

The Space Shuttle Pavilion at Intrepid showcases the space shuttle Enterprise, the prototype NASA orbiter that paved the way for the space shuttle program. Seventeen dynamic exhibit zones feature original artifacts, photographs, audio, and films that immerse visitors in the science and history of Enterprise and the space shuttle era. Experience the stories of previously unsung women in the US space program brought to life through Microsoft HoloLens and hosted by a holographic Dr. Mae Jemison.

A new exhibition which offers a glimpse into the lives of 11 astronauts through special objects they brought with them on missions: you can listen to Charles Volden’s favorite tunes, see Nicole Stott’s watercolor waves and get sentimental over Ellen Baker’s family keepsakes, to name a few.

International Space Station (ISS) Virtual Reality Experience
Take a virtual reality trip out of this world and visit the International Space Station! Experience what it’s like to work, learn, and live in the micro-gravity environment of space.

Astronomy Nights
Family Astronomy Nights, provided free to the public. Guests include NASA Goddard Space Flight astrophysicist Amber Straughn, Mimi Aung from NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Noah Petro from NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center.
