NYSG Faculty Fellowships

NYSG Faculty Fellowships are competitively awarded up to $30,000 to faculty at NYSG affiliate institutions.

The intent of this fellowship is to create opportunities for early career researchers with a particular focus on those at smaller institutions. Mid-career researchers may also be considered.

USAGE OF FUNDS:

Funds may be used for activities that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Student research mentored by college faculty or professional scientists

  • Payload space on launch vehicles

  • Travel to present at scientific conferences or symposia

  • Participation in training or professional development

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible to apply, fellowship recipients:

  • Must be United States citizens (US permanent residents are ineligible)

  • Must be faculty members at a New York Space Grant Affiliate Institution

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

All applications must include the following items in order to be considered:

  • Detailed proposal of research of which you are requesting NYSG support for

  • Research relevance to NASA priorities

  • Detailed budget for proposed research

  • Anticipated number of students directly involved in research

  • Previous NYSG funding
