Student Highlight - Yu Xuan Huang

Yu Xuan Huang of City College worked at NASA Langley Research Center.

The purpose of this project was to identify above anvil cirrus plumes (AACP) using machine learning methods. AACPs are weather phenomenon that often precede severe weather such as tornados, thunderstorms, hail, and high winds. This project applied machine learning techniques such as deep learning in order to automatically identify AACPs in satellite imagery.
